30.09.2021

On 21st September 2021 the exhibition “ВМЕСТЕ” (“TOGETHER”) on the European Union (EU) – Russia Cross-Border Cooperation programmes (CBC) had started two months journey through the bordering regions of North-West Russia.

This exhibition was prepared by the Delegation of the European Union to Russia in consultation with the Russian Ministry of Economic Development in order to increase the visibility of the EU-Russia CBC programmes in the Russian Federation.

The traveling exhibition “Together” is dedicated to cross-border cooperation between the Russian Federation and the European Union, which for a quarter of a century has been contributing to the socio-economic development of territories on both sides of the border and strengthening ties between people.

The aim of this exhibition is to show that behind programmes, financial figures and projects are real people and real stories, the general approach to the exhibition has been to give to a larger audience an opportunity to learn about cross-border cooperation projects through personal stories of project participants.

The exhibition in a vivid and visual form tells about 22 projects that were implemented within the framework of various cross-border cooperation programmes 2014-2020. Among the initiatives presented are large infrastructure projects, such as improving the water supply system in Sortavala and the reconstruction of the checkpoint of the St. Petersburg port “Marine Facade”, and projects to restore historical and cultural heritage sites, and joint initiatives of educational institutions to popularize robotics or music education, as well as projects aimed at supporting and developing clean technologies, promoting local entrepreneurship, expanding employment opportunities, protecting the environment.

There is also a wide range of people who share their experience of participating in cross-border cooperation – employees of large and small enterprises, scientists, doctors, cultural workers, students, local residents.
