On 17 March 2021 fourth meeting of the Joint Programming Committee was held online to discuss preparation of the Estonia-Russia Cross Border Cooperation (CBC) Programme 2021-2027.
The meeting was chaired by Ms Alla Agapova, Deputy Head of Department of Development of integration projects and CIS countries, Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
The meeting started with the information on the latest developments of EU regulations and Financing Agreement preparations of the Interreg NEXT Estonia-Russia CBC Programme 2021-2027, delivered by Ms Tanya Dimitrova, Programme Desk Officer in EC, representative of EC/DG REGIO.
Mr Peeter Unt, expert of Gravitas Consult Ltd, provided information on the outcomes of the stakeholders’ and experts’ consultations and online questionnaire as part of the programming process, supplemented by practical recommendations of the meeting’s participants reflected in terms of continuing the work.
The agenda points discussed during the event:
- draft of the Programme document;
- preparation of the Large infrastructure projects (LIPs);
- overview of the Programme management structure;
- Programming timeline and further steps of the preparation process.
The Programming Committee supported the process of the further wider stakeholders’ consultations to identify more precisely target areas of intervention under preselected Policy Objectives (POs) of the Estonia – Russia 2021-2027 Programme:
PO 2 “A greener low-carbon Europe”
PO 3 “A more connected Europe”
PO 4 “A more social-oriented Europe”
PO (ISO) 1 “A better cooperation governance for Europe”
Next meeting of the Joint Programming Committee is scheduled for May 2021.
