Estonian EU external border programme

On 1 February 2023, the 14th meeting of the Joint Monitoring Committee of Estonian EU external border programme was held in Tallinn (Estonia), an important part of which was the decision making regarding the project applications of the 5th Call.

Based on the proposal made by the programme Selection Committee, the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) approved for awarding 11 project applications submitted within the 5th Call for proposals.

The decisions of the JMC will be communicated to Lead Applicants by Managing Authority (MA) shortly, and afterwards based on the MA decisions the pre-contracting negotiations with Lead Applicants will be initiated.  

Supported initiatives within the 5th Call are targeted to capitalization and are built on the results of previously awarded projects in the field of business and SME development, environmental protection, and cooperation between local and regional communities.

Members of the JMC got acquainted also with the significant achievements and results of projects supported by the programme which were presented at the meeting by Estonian lead beneficiaries from projects “Adrienne” (ER55) – Estonian Marine Institute, University of Tartu, “River Promenades III” (ER4) – Narva City Government, Department for City Development and Economy, and “NTIT” (ER89) – SA Vaba Lava in sphere of tourism development, culture and environmental protection.

The agenda of the event also included an introduction on content and approval of the 7th Annual Report reflecting the implementation of the programme in the period from 1 July 2021 until 30 June 2022, and an overview of forecast of the Technical Assistance budget for programme eligibility period.

The 14th meeting of the Joint Monitoring Committee of the Estonian EU external border programme was chaired by the Estonian National Authority.
