Estonian EU external border programme

On 1 February 2021 project awarded within the 3rd call for proposals “Borderless music in border town” – Borderless (ER161) was launched in partnership of “NGO Border Music” (Tartu, Estonia) and “St. Petersburg Public Organization for the Support of Socially Important Projects “Alternative”” (Russia).

Within one year partners from Tartu and St.Petersburg will jointly promote cross-border cultural cooperation based on direct contacts at regional level and carrying out joint activities in the field of music.

Planned master-classes will cover the following topics:

  • strengthening of improvisation skills;
  • widening of experience in ensemble playing;
  • acquiring theoretical material for independent work;
  • provision of unique approach to performing and writing music.

Special arrangements are foreseen to organize meeting with a world-class musician.

The Project foresees 6 joint master classes to be held in Narva, Estonia, and 6 joint master-classes to be held in St. Petersburg, involving in each 10 musicians from both countries.

To promote musical culture at least 100 local people and tourists will be invited to each concert in the framework of master-classes. The project is implemented under TO5 – “Support to local and regional good governance” and has the overall budget of EUR 59 720, which includes Programme co-financing in the amount of EUR 53 748.
