Borderless music in border town

The overall objective of the Project is to improve the cooperation in culture area between local and regional communities in border regions of Estonia and Russia.

Partners from Tartu and St. Petersburg will jointly promote cross-border cultural cooperation based on direct contacts at regional level and carrying out joint activities in the field of music.

Specific objectives:

Planned master-classes will cover the following topics:

  • strengthening of improvisation skills;
  • widening of experience in ensemble playing;
  • acquiring theoretical material for independent work;
  • provision of unique approach to performing and writing music.

Special arrangements are foreseen to organize meeting with a world-class musician.

Main activities

Plan of activities foresees 6 master-classes to be held in Narva, Estonia, and 6 master-classes to be held in St. Petersburg. In each master-class, 10 musicians from Estonia and 10 from Russia will participate.
Altogether, 60 Estonian musicians and 60 Russian musicians will take part in the Project.

To promote musical culture at least 100 local people and tourists will be invited to each concert in the framework of master-classes.
