Restocking of European eel as a measure of endangered species recovery and preservation of natural diversity

Project will focus on elaboration of the set of recommendations for further evaluations and main results which will support subsequent research/studies on European eel in the area.

Specific objectives:

• Development of the measures to secure the sustainable use of transboundary eel stocks both for Estonian and Russian decision makers
• Increased knowledge of the status, origin and distribution of the eel stock in the project region supporting management of the transboundary fishery more precisely

Main activities:

• Acquiring and maintenance of the field work equipment
• Seasonal fieldworks
• Data analyses
• Wide range of information and communication activities both for scientific community and general public
