Promoting healthy lifestyles

“Healthy” project aims at promotion of healthy lifestyles among population in border areas of Estonia and Russia for local population and tourists by means of improving co-operation between local and regional authorities and their sub-units.

Specific objective:

• To widen availability of sporting and recreational opportunities and facilitate related people-to-people cooperation for local population and tourists in border areas of Estonia and Russia

Main activities:

• Expansion of contacts between youth in border regions through youth exchanges, organization and holding of joint sports events, including orienteering, athletics, adventure games, football, basketball, camps for physical and language training, study visit of various sport/recreation camps
• Involvement of local residents and tourists in city sports events
• Development of new routes: bicycle route Räpina-Koidula-Pskov and hiking route  Värska – Saatse – Krupp – Pechory
• Development of chip-based point collection system both in Estonia and Russia
• Increasing interest in healthy lifestyles through the use of new ICTs
• Installation of sports simulators in the open air on the embankment of the Velikaya river and outdoor fitness equipment in Räpina.
