Decision not to initiate the strategic environmental assessment of the Estonia-Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2021-2027.

The Managing Authority has taken decision on 11 May 2022 not to initiate a strategic environmental assessment of the Estonia-Russia CBC Programme 2021-2027.
The Estonia-Russia CBC Programme 2021-2027 has been prepared, but it has not been submitted to the European Commission yet, since cooperation with the Russian Federation has been suspended since 24 February 2022.

PUBLIC HEARING ON PRELIMINARY ESTIMATE OF THE STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT . 4 February 2022

Estonia-Russia CBC Programme is launching Public Hearing on Preliminary Estimate of the strategic environmental assessment (Preliminary Estimate).

The purpose of the Preliminary Estimate is to ensure that the environmental impacts are assessed, considered during the preparation and implementation of the programme.

In elaboration of the Preliminary Estimate of the strategic environmental assessment, environmental aspects of the activities planned in the Estonia – Russia Programme 2021-2027 (Programme), which are expected to have a negative impact, are considered. As a result of the report, the Programme has received recommendation not to initiate a strategic environmental impact assessment.

The Public Hearing on the Preliminary Estimate takes place online from 4 February 2022 to 4 March 2022. In parallel, procedures to involve national level counterparts takes place in Estonia.

We invite everyone interested to take part in the Public Hearing on Preliminary Estimate to use the opportunity to provide the input to the document, by filling-in the online survey feedback form by 4 March 2022, with comments that can be given in any of three languages: Estonian, Russian or English HERE .
