Estonian EU external border programme

The awarded project ER25 “Water Management of the Narva River: harmonization and sustention” (NarvaWatMan) (Project) is now officially launched and will be implemented by three partners: Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), Federal State Budgetary Institution “State Hydrological Institute” and State company “MINERAL” (Russia). Two more organizations are involved in project implementation as associated partners: Narva City Government Department of City Maintenance and Administration of municipal formation «City Ivangorod Kingisepp municipal district of Leningrad Region».

The Project coming under Thematic Objective (TO) 6 “Environmental protection, climate change mitigation and adaptation” will focus on the development of the harmonized methods for measuring water discharges, estimation of the river Narva runoff and the total nutrient load entering to the Gulf of Finland, elaboration of the complex index obtained for harmonized water quality assessment criteria.

The cooperation of the leading national organizations from Russia and Estonia in the field of environmental protection with a great work experience in the Programme Region, will ensure the high level of competence and implementation of mutually agreed methods and estimation criteria.

The project will be implemented in the course of 31 months supported by the overall budget EUR 565 850,00 which includes Programme co-financing in the amount of EUR 509 265,00.
